Sapphire Beach is amazing and the location to Red Hook is excellent. Clean, bohemian aesthetic. This is an upstairs unit with No view of the ocean which is disappointing at this price point. There is no dining table except on view-less porch which has no screens, so welcome mosquitoes. We stayed for 5 days & didn’t have a single hot shower despite letting the property manager know about the issue nightly. They offered some tips to try to get hot water but didn’t send anyone to assess or fix the issue. No oven but a large toaster oven in drawer. No dishwasher &no washer dryer. They provide one “pod” of detergent. You must walk to the laundry area & pray machines are available. There were only TWO beach towels provided. I asked the property contact for more, got no reply. Only 2 sets of snorkel equipment 1 being for a child so we had to pay to rent a 2nd set. We had to pay the Host fee of $349 which I’ve NEVER had to on VRBO, only pay guest fee, not the host fee! Not stocked well (staples of home like many rentals). Originally, I booked this for myself, husband and 2 kids (12& 9) for 10 days. Our trip ended up being 5 days for me &my husband, thankfully, because while it may technically sleep 4, the pull out sofa is more decorative & not comfortable to sit on for a few minutes let alone sleep on for a few nights. We will return to Sapphire beach but not stay in this rental again. Price too high, missing key amenities/comforts poor service, no replies from mgr.
